Stone Lion Building and Restoration Corp. completed a major renovation to our 1963 home. Walls were moved to create a large bathroom and small laundry room where the reverse existed, a large living room entranceway wall was moved to create a short entrance hall and a larger kitchen, an island and built in hutch were added to the living area, a garage was built where there was an existing carport, and the location and number of doors and windows was changed and created. We are extremely pleased with their work on several levels:
Intelligence and Negotiation Skills – The contractor, Scott Subko, aside from doing the actual construction work, is astute when it comes to legalities. The contract was reviewed line by line and he has the ability to negotiate well. I had problems with granite that was improperly fabricated and a custom bathtub that was defective. These were two projects I choose to take on myself, and I was getting nowhere correcting the problems. Scott Subko volunteered to get involved and both issues were concluded one hundred percent to my satisfaction.
Patience - The contractor is patient and even tempered. It took several meetings before I decided on the exact design. Never once did he appear frustrated or hurried, simply stating this was part of the process.
Creativeness – We worked together designing most aspects of the renovation. He has great suggestions, but most importantly, he LISTENS to his customer. Combining both our ideas together we came up with a great finished project.
Attention to Detail – Stone Lion’s work is excellent. One of our code inspectors told me it was a pleasure to see their work. He said that meeting code was just minimum standards, but that Stone Lion’s work exceeds code requirements.
Follow Through – Scott Subko was here most of the time, but when he wasn’t, his employees never left before he came and inspected their work. If anything was not to his satisfaction, it was redone. In addition, they cleaned up on a daily basis after working long hours, sometimes seven days a week.
Stone Lion may not be the cheapest quote you get, but the quality workmanship and peace of mind are worth every penny!
