SaveBig.com engages in fraudulent practices, especially false advertising.
SaveBig.com advertises spectacular deals and spectacular endorsements, so I bought 45 bids for $27 on 11/21/11. Suddenly, the webpage went from having great deals to cheap gadgets, so I did more research and saw so many complaints. Within 2 hours of signing up, I cancelled my card to prevent any completely authorized charges. Oddly enough, I even saw 2 different links advertising 2 different prices for the same number of bids. I really wanted my money back, but as I had legitimately authorized the payment, I couldn't. So I decided to see where these bids would lead me. I ensured they could reach me if I won, and they were able to. Auctions opened for the iPod and the flat screen TV. I was involved in bidding wars for both items... And then, with me as the final bidder, they both went down to 1 second! The timers both froze there for at least 20 seconds, with the TV one freezing for much longer, without the timer going to 0, as it should have. I realized I wasn't going to get my prizes, though their website clearly states, "If you are the highest bidder when the timer reaches zero, you win!" SaveBig does call them "timers," and though it never really reached zero for me, as timers, they should have. Someone else, probably one of their own employees posing as a "fellow bidder," probably "won," and I had spent all my bids, and so I filed an online complaint. I didn't get any response at all. I called, and their "customer support line is now closed."
