Although Honda as a brand is known to be a great vehicle because of it's relatively low list of repairs, higher trade in value and modern style, Larry Hopkins standards for the used cars on their lot are proved to be very low. Touting a "150 point inspection" that all used cars must pass before they sell them, I was sold a used 2001 Audi S4 with 66000 miles that had no brake pad left, hole in pipe that distributes Freon (resulting in no air conditioning), failed thermostat and now is unable to hold a full amount of coolant for longer than 5 minutes of driving. They gave me a mere $500.00 for "good will" and refused in the beginning to exchange vehicle. Honda's I believe are a good buy, but used cars from Larry Hopkins seem to have a low standard of functionality.
***Update***
I just went back today after receiving a response from BBB complaint from Larry Hopkins Honda Representative. The rep explained that if I came back they would help me with this experience by trading in the broke car that they sold me for a new vehicle. This was the offer...They would give me $4,500 for trade in (compared to Acura down the street offer of $7,000 for trade in) I would have to put $8,000 down on a $24,000.00 vehicle and then pay $650.00 /month for the next 60 months in order for them to do business with me. I hope that this example further illustrates the accuracy of my claim when I say this company is led by crooks and doing business with them would be a grave mistake.
