Review 10/5/2011

I signed up with IMAX in the summer of 2010 after being called by one of their independent sales agents, Pegasus International out of Seattle, for the billionth time. I initially thought Pegasus was the actual processor. The saleswoman (name begins with K) said Pegasus could save us a lot of money. So after comparing and talking to one of my colleagues in the same industry, I decided to go with them. I was insistent, however, that I didn't want to be held under contract and if i didn't like the service I could bail without any fees. K said "no problem". At that point, K sends me a "contract" from IMAX with the particulars and under Early Termination Fee the number 0.00 was typed in. I looked over the "contract" and signed. After a short time, my fees changed thru IMAX and I noticed various fluff charges i.e. "Merchant Club" and "Debit Access Fee" appearing. A lot of back end charges. None of these on my original contract or so I thought. They were hidden.
I looked into replacing IMAX/Pegasus with XCharge/Accelerated Payment which is an internet processor thru my point-of-sale shop management system. The numbers looked good and I moved my business. At that point, I contacted Pegasus to cancel whereas K was supposed to do this thru IMAX. I continued to receive ACH charges from IMAX for $64 for 2 months. Yesterday I called Pegasus and could not reach K so I called IMAX where they told me I would have to pay about $1500 in termination fees. Naturally I was shocked and even more shocked this morning when they yanked $1485.90 out of my business checking account. After several phone calls to IMAX, Pegasus (none answered by K and no return calls), my bank, and my attorney.... I stand angered and deceived by two unscrupulous companies and $1500 poorer in a very difficult economic climate. My advice to anyone changing credit card processing companies....do your homework unlike me, read everything or better yet let a contract lawyer read it, and trust no one. Lastly, if anyone from Pegasus or IMAX contacts you....hang up. Signed.....Screwed in Sacramento
