I shipped 3 vehicles to Luanda Angola a few months ago and everything turned out to be a complete disaster. Story went like this My husband talked to a salesperson there that was supposed to be our main contact. The poor customer service started with Evans Duplessy never returning phone calls. This was our very first time shipping overseas so we trusted that this man knew more than we did but it turned out that I learned more from shipping one time than this man knows from shipping hundreds of times. I had to call the president of the company in order to get a phone call back from Evans on status of the shipment. Once things started to go wrong with the shipment I was referred off to another department. The first problem was that the shipping documents were lost, this was blamed on someone other than Global. We were told in the beginning that everything was paid for and there would be no further fees then hit with a 1600.00 invoice before they would release vehicles. The vehicles arrived 2 weeks late and then sat at the port for 3 WEEKS because Global Relogistics could not figure out how to get them released. I told them in the beginning that we needed an original bill of lading but they assured me that they knew more than I did and sent the release via telex a form which this port does NOT ACCEPT. Dana and Dia were difficult to get a hold of and rarely showed up to work before 11 or 12. I would have to wait until noon some days just to talk to one of them because they were sick or had something with their kid etc etc. The excuses went on and on. Everything got so bad that our friend who we shipped to would call us crying because he was being charged hundreds of dollars for every day that the vehicles sat at the port. In the end we figured out that Global had no clue what they were doing. They had hired another shipper who then hired another shipper. Money that we sent to Global for the "final invoice" to release our shipment took a week to get to the shipper even though it was WIRED and they were fully aware that our friend was being charged by the day. Because the vehicles sat for so long at the port they ended up getting broken into and all of the goods that were inside were stolen and our friend was left with a HUGE bill from the port for the vehicles sitting. I ended up having to cut out Global during the last few days which is when I finally got somewhere, which was with the shipping co that they hired "Atlantic Express" Atlantic got things done and did not mess around. They knew the exact importance of the vehicles being released before the customer was charged even more. After all of this at the end, we never even received an apology from Global Relogistics or an offer for any kind of refund for the extra fees that were incurred due to their negligence. We still may end up filing suit for the extra port fees. I would not recommend this company to anyone. We are getting ready to ship again and hope to have better luck with whomever we choose this time which is why I visited this site.
