Don't fall for this unscrupulous business!

I came across this company, which calls themselves an "executive matchmaking company" for Gay men at their booth at the Castro Street Fair in San Francisco this past year. Yearning to be in a relationship, and not finding success through online dating, I decided a personal old fashioned matchmaker might be a promising alternative. I gave them my contact information and they called me right away to invite me to meet with their president and founder, Susan Adams for a complimentary "get to know you" session. After a high pressure sales pitch where she convincingly assured me she had a client base "approaching 200", and "at least 10 men off the top of her head" who would make great matches, I eventually signed their contract and paid their fee. From the moment I signed up the problems began, however, from not being able to reach anyone for days (despite their "24/7 access" benefit that they list), and their complete failure to produce even ONE match for me over the age of 40 as agreed (I'm in my 50's), to their repeated lies, and stalling for time, and most outrageously being screamed at on the phone by Susan for questioning her experience after some of the above began to become evident. This company was a nightmare to work with, totally misrepresented what they could do for me, and never produced a single date over the age of 40, despite their glowing assessments of me (before I signed the contract of course), and their assurances about how easy I would be to match. In addition, they blatantly lied to me on several occasions that I know of (and have hard evidence for in the form of emails and voice mails). After their complete failure to deliver, they refused to even consider a refund. When I told Ms Adams I would try to seek a refund from my credit card company, she threatened that if I did she would take me to court, and "given the personal nature" of the information she had, that I would be "embarrassed"(I still have the email where she states this). Ultimately my credit card company would not credit me because they stated the contract I signed was non-refundable. Avoid this company at all cost! (Ms Adams also runs a matchmaking business for women called Lavender Liasons).
