I bought a lot in Carriage Park 5-1/2 years ago. I was given the plans for the required house by the salesperson for Carriage Park Associates. After paying HOA dues and taxes on the property all this time, I was finally able to retire and move to Hendersonville to build the house, only to find out that the lot is too small for the required house. After revising the plans several times, I did not like any of the revisions and was told that I would have to put the revised house on the lot sideways. Thus, my front porch and entry would face the neighbor's sidewall. When I rejected that idea, I was told that I could hide the neighbor by planting trees in front of my house. Finally, I sought an exchange of lots. I was offered a lot that CPA had already tried to build on and abandoned because of substantial added cost to provide drainage and to build a retaining wall on the property. This fact was not disclosed to me by CPA; I found it out otherwise. My final request that CPA buy back the property has been unanswered. Failures to disclose material information in the sale of real estate (in my case, there were other failures to disclose, as well) mean nothing to these unethical people.
