I am honored to say that this course is EXCELLENT; JUST DO IT!
BLUF: This team KNOWS their stuff! Okay, it took me two tries to pass…not due to the lessons but due to me failing to put in the required after class time to be ready :) --------------------------------------------------------- Now for the rest of the story... LoanOfficerSchool’s instruction and examples were spot on. After scheduling my test date, my Broker asked me to move my test to the left. I did so reluctantly and took it sooner than I had planned. The school’s pre-test materials were thorough and accurately assessed my preparation. I was averaging between 65-70% on all of their test. My gut told me to reschedule but I pushed on as the need is great. Mind you, I am NOT afraid of national certification test. I have my series 6/63 securities licenses, Life Insurance license and PMI PMP certification. I have a Master’s Degree and I am a retired Aircraft Maintenance (pay grade E-9) Electrical and Environmental Systems specialist. I am a government contractor providing acquisition & execution support to the Intelligence Community. I move hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of dollars to support development of systems and applications to fight the bad guys down range. Needless to say, I am fairly confident in my abilities. Any who...I failed that first test by four points...scored a 71%. What really kicked my tail was trying to sort out Reg Z vs Reg V mandatory disclosures and the mortgage laws. Additionally, life got in the way...you know it usually does. Please use my experience/story to your advantage...after the class, MAKE TIME at least 20 but more like 30 hours of study time is need to pass this test first time out. Of course...this doesn't apply to the geniuses or folks with photographic memories. The very next business day, I tried to reschedule my test...NOPE, NMLS does NOT allow rescheduling UNTIL 30-days passes. I was like, what the hell! I got over it and tend to agree with their policy to have folks cool off; then get back on the horse once again. I'd like to say that I kicked that test @$$ but I did not. I scored an 80%. No excuses...life still go in the way but I was ready. Yes, I was disappointed with my score but I passed...NEXT :) I am EXEMELY thankful to the instructors (especially David and Deanne) for helping me achieve this license; you guys really rock! You made the class FUN. I wish you and the school continued success in 2018. Respectfully, Ellsworth S. Brown, Jr. CMSgt (Ret.), USAF Aka Brownie
